Leonora Carrington

Carrington refused the job of muse. Her paintings and stories invent a female mythology of hyenas, white horses, and kitchens that are also temples.

After a break with Ernst and a psychiatric internment, she remakes her life in Mexico. The dream becomes a long, lucid career.
